Ringette squads battle on road

The Prince George Custom Walls & Ceilings/Houle Electric ringette team faced stiff competition in its final tournament of the season. The petite-level club, coached by Jana Campbell and Dee Matzelle, posted a 1-2-1 record at a gathering in Houston.

The petite-level club, coached by Jana Campbell and Dee Matzelle, posted a 1-2-1 record at a gathering in Houston. On Saturday, Prince George started with a 6-4 win against Terrace and then tied that same team 5-5. The next day, P.G. fell 9-7 and 10-9 to Houston.

In the four games, Keira Meroniuk fired 14 goals.

Meanwhile, in Calgary, the Integris Credit Union Under-19 squad took shots in the Lonnie Krahn tournament and came away with a tie and two losses.

The U-19s drew 4-4 with Calgary Vite and then dropped decisions to Red Deer (6-1) and Calgary Syne (7-2). For the weekend, Layne Ongman -- with three goals -- led the team in scoring.
