Gavin Rowell of Prince George was the top Canadian on Friday at World Cup ski cross event in Innichen, Italy.
The 24-year-old finished 20th in the men's race.
In other Canadian results, Reece Howden of Chilliwack was 23rd, Jared Schmidt of Ottawa was 27th, Kevin Drury of Toronto was 32nd and Cardon Cook of Edmonton placed 34th.
In the women’s race that followed, Sixtine Cousin of Switzerland captured gold. Berger Sabbatal of France won silver and Sandra Naeslund of Sweden was the bronze medalist.
Marielle Thompson of Whistler won the small final to finish as the top Canadian female, while Hannah Schmidt of Ottawa was eighth, Inda Sherritt of Cranbrook was ninth and Brittany Phelan of Mont-Tremblant, Que., was 14thout of 18 starters.
The World Cup tour comes to Canada for the next events, Jan. 18-21 in Nakiska, Alta.
