The frigid winter temperatures of Prince George cause running enthusiasts to take total advantage of the warmer weather whenever the sunshine pokes its head out.
The Prince George Road Runners Club is the perfect place for runners to get their fix. The club hosts seven races around the city during the spring and summer months, some with fixed lengths and other races offer varying lengths to encourage runners of all levels of experience to join.
Matthew Church, the president of the club, estimates a core group of 40 are the most active road runners, but races are open to anyone.
In some past races, they've seen kids participating alongside seniors up to 70 years old.
The club isn't designed to teach novice runners on the particulars of how to be successful, instead the group encourages members and gives them a selection of local road races around the city.

On June 17, the club offers the Beat the Bugs trail run at 6 p.m. And on June 19 is the Highland Ridge Run at 9 a.m.
