The Prince George Kodiaks are joining the B.C. Football Conference this summer as the province's seventh junior football team. On hand for this July 2021 introduction of team staff at Masich Place Stadium were, from left, BCFC president Tyler McLaren, Kodiaks president Craig Briere, Kodiaks head coach/director of football operations Keon Raymond, and Mayor Lyn Hall.

After nearly two years of planning, the Prince George Kodiaks will finally get their chance to strut their stuff on a junior football field this Saturday in Chilliwack

The expansion Kodiaks, the seventh team in the B.C. Junior Football Conference, will take on the Valley Huskers in their inaugural game Saturday at 7 p.m. at Exhibition Field in Chilliwack.

The Kodiaks will play a 10-game schedule and after a bye weekend next week they will host the Kamloops Broncos in their home-opener at Masich Place Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.

The Prince George team is led by head coach and director of football operations Keon Raymond, a two-time Grey Cup champion and CFL all-star defensive back with the Calgary Stampeders.

The Kodiaks will join the Kamloops Broncos, Langley Rams, Valley (Chilliwack) Huskers, Okanagan Sun, Vancouver Island (Nanaimo) Raiders and Westshore (Langford) Rebels in the seven-team B.C. Junior Football Conference. The BCJFC is part of the Canadian Junior Football League and its teams compete for the Canadian Bowl national championship.

Season tickets for the five home games at Masich are available at the Tickets North website.
