Prince George Cougars goalie Tyler Brennan was named the top-ranked North American goalie in the 2022 NHL Central Scouting final draft rankings.

Prince George Cougars goalie Tyler Brennan is the top ranked Northern American netminder, heading into the 2022 NHL Draft.

Brennan was one of five Cougars to make the cut NHL Central Scouting’s final draft rankings. Fellow goalie Ty Young was ranked the sixth North American goaltender, while defencemen Hudson Thorton (109th), Keaton Dowhaniuk (120th) and Viliam Kmec (186th) were ranked among North American skaters.

Brennan, who hails from Winnipeg, Man., played 39 games this season and posted at 11-25-1-1 record with the Cougars.

A total of 53 players from the WHL made the NHL final draft rankings this year. The 2022 NHL Draft is scheduled to take place in Montreal on July 7-8.
