With shrieks of delight and an unbridled release of sweet emotion, the Prince George Red Posse ran around the floor at Kin 1 carrying their championship banner in a post-game celebration Saturday afternoon.

It was a tough pill to swallow for the P.G. Black Posse, who dejectedly made their way to the dressing room as they watched the champions of the Great White North Lacrosse League novice division parading the prize they so badly coveted.

In the all-Prince George final, the Black Posse's second playoff comeback of the day came up one goal short and they lost 7-6 to the guys in red. Hayden Kerr scored three goals for the Red Posse and Ryan Goyer, Adam Halsell, Sorren Erricson and Alex Nimmo each fired singles. Nimmo's goal early in the third period proved the game-winner.

"After I scored I didn't think they were going to score that many, I thought we had it in the bag," said Nimmo. "But they battled back hard and both teams played a great game."

-- In the bantam final Saturday, the P.G. Black Posse rallied to beat the Williams Lake Bighorns 9-7. Brogan O'Brien and Olin Erricson each scored four goals, while Quinn Ferris added a single for the Posse.

-- In Sunday's peewee final, a five-goal effort from Jared Stevens and a three-goal game from Davie-Ray Dionne led the Prince George Red Posse to a 10-8 win over Prince George Black Posse. Steven Kidwell and Jaron Wagner each scored twice for Team Black.

-- The midget division went to a three-game playoff that involved Prince George, Mackenzie and Quesnel. Mitch McLean scored three goals to lead the Quesnel Wildfire to a 7-6 win over Prince George 7-6 in the opener. Quesnel dumped Mackenzie 6-1 in the third game Sunday afternoon to win the championship. The midget Posse finished second, beating Mackenzie 3-0. Mark Reimer scored twice and Dom Sia added a single in that game.
