The PGSS Polars posted a winning record and a fifth-place finish at a 19-team senior girls basketball tournament in Grande Prairie on the weekend.
The Polars went 2-1 at the tournament, held at Grande Prairie Regional College. After a first-round bye, PGSS defeated Vanier 63-30, lost 38-30 to Sexsmith and downed Athabasca 60-35.
PGSS was led by Issy Bourque, who scored 46 points in the three games. Jenny Sterns and Kelsey Videgain were also key contributors on offence.
