For the Prince George Polars, that's what they needed but did not get on opening day at the quad-A boys provincial basketball championship in Langley.

The North Central zone champion-Polars, ranked 15th out of 16 teams at the tournament, lost 97-34 to the No. 2-ranked Gleneagle Talons of Coquitlam.

The Polars will take on No. 10 Kelowna today at 8:30 a.m.
