PGARA's top title has left town.
Jarret Bonn, a Fort St. John-based driver, wrapped up a season points championship in the Prince George Auto Racing Association on Saturday night. Bonn is the association's new street stock champ, thanks to a season in which he piled up 199 points. For the title, he held off Prince George's Jim Chapman, who accumulated 164 points. Jerry Gascon, with 160 points, rounded out the top three.
Siblings Tyler Case and Desiree Case also clinched points championships on Saturday.
In the mini stock division, Tyler Case ended the season with 275 points. He finished well ahead of runner-up Lawrence Barks (257 points) and third-place driver Nathan Linfitt (214 points).
Desiree Case, meanwhile, buzzed to the season crown in the hornet class. She earned 195 points, which placed her in front of Jesse Roberts (172 points) and Dylan Schug (109 points) in the top three.
The 2012 season marked the 60th anniversary of PGARA.
n For the third time in four years, Penticton's Mark Berriau is the top dog in the ARCA OK Tire Sportsman Series.
Berriau wrapped up his latest championship when he finished third in the Russell L. Anderson Memorial 100 in Vernon on Saturday night. He crossed the line behind race winner Matt Stephenson and runner-up Korbin Thomas.
Berriau finished the year with 488 points, 30 more than nearest rival Ian Graham.
Berriau also drove to ARCA championships in 2009 and 2011. He didn't race in 2010.
Prince George's Logan Jewell finished fourth on Saturday and ended the season third overall with 395 points.
