Ontario and Nova Scotia finished at the top of their respective pools in Canada Winter Games women's curling. As their reward, they get byes into tonight's semifinals, set for 7 at the Prince George Golf and Curling Club.
Ontario finished at 6-0 in Pool A. B.C. (5-1) and Saskatchewan (4-2) rounded out the top three.
In Pool B, Nova Scotia compiled a 5-0 record. Second-place Alberta went 4-1, while New Brunswick, Manitoba and Quebec tied at 2-3. In a tiebreaker Thursday afternoon, New Brunswick rolled to a 10-2 win against Manitoba. Late Thursday night, New Brunswick battled Quebec in a second tiebreaker.
In today's quarterfinals at noon, Alberta will meet Saskatchewan, while B.C. will take on the winner of Thursday night's New Brunswick-Quebec game.
Medal contests will be held on Saturday. The battle for bronze will start at 1 p.m. and the gold-medal final will begin at 5 p.m.
