Deep-sea divers typically find their treasure under water.
Prince George Pisces Swim Club members Julie Wing, Ben Shand and Matthew Shand, on the other hand, found the rewards for their efforts on the surface.
The three Pisces swimmers, under the direction of head coach Dave Barrett, earned trips to the medal podium at the B.C. Summer Swimming Association provincial championships two weekends ago in Richmond.
Wing captured four medals, including gold in the 50-metre backstroke, silver in the 100 individual medley and 50 freestyle events, and bronze in the 100 free.
Ben Shand was crowned champion in the 50 backstroke, won silver in the 100 free, captured bronze in the 50 free and also placed fourth in the 100 IM. His brother Matthew nailed down bronze medals in the 100 IM, 50 breaststroke and 50 backstroke, and was ninth in the 50 freestyle.
In other Pisces results, Brendan Bellavance advanced to the consolation finals in all four of his races, finishing 13th in the 100 breaststroke, 14th in the 200 IM, 16th in the 50 free and 16th in the 100 free.
Kyra Arrowsmith posted four top-25 finishes, placing 21st in the 50 breaststroke, 22nd in the 50 backstroke, 22nd in the 100 free and 23rd in the 50 free. Ariadne Douglas was 21st in the 50 butterfly, 24th in the 50 breaststroke and 25th in the 50 backstroke.
The combined efforts of the Pisces swimmers placed them 36th out of 60 in the team standings.
