PGYSA Kodiaks kick off provincials weekend

After the first day of competition at the 2012 BC soccer championships the teams representing Prince George accumulated three wins and two losses among the five select Kodiaks squads.

After the first day of competition at the 2012 BC soccer championships the teams representing Prince George accumulated three wins and two losses among the five select Kodiaks squads.

In the under-18 boys division in Aldergrove it was the Kodiaks scoring a 5-0 win over the Saanich Fusion. Game 2 is Friday, 3 p.m., versus the Nelson Selects.

Also in Aldergrove, the PGYSA under-17 boys lost 3-0 to Lakehill and will try to get back into the win column when they play the Creston Blitz on Friday, 3 p.m. The under-14 B boys team fell 2-1 to Victoria's Prospect Lake SC in its opening game and will play the Kootenay South BigHorns on Friday, 3 p.m.

In girls action, the PGYSA under-16 A Kodiaks dominated the West Vancouver Rangers to earn a 2-1 win in Kamloops. The under-16 girls will put their 11-0 season record on the line Friday when they play Port Moody at 1:30 p.m.

The under-15 girls were also victorious in Kelowna coming up with a 3-0 win over Comax on Thursday.
