PGSS drops to 0-3

The Prince George Polars are still looking for their first win at the triple-A girls basketball provincial championship. The Polars fell to 0-3 Friday, losing 68-40 to the Kitsilano Blue Demons of Vancouver.

The Prince George Polars are still looking for their first win at the triple-A girls basketball provincial championship.

The Polars fell to 0-3 Friday, losing 68-40 to the Kitsilano Blue Demons of Vancouver. Bailee Poitras led PGSS offensively with 17 points. Natalie Chappell collected five points in a losing cause.

PGSS fell behind 26-7 after one quarter and trailed 45-19 at the half.

The Polars will play Mount Baker of Cranbrook on Saturday to determine 15th place in the 16-team tournament.

Meanwhile at the single-A girls provincial championship in Fernie, the Cedars Christian Eagles were one win away from advancing to the final. The Eagles are taking on Kelowna Christian, followed by the Abbotsford Christian-Houston Christian semifinal. The final is set for Saturday at 6:45 p.m.
