PGSBL playoffs begin tonight at Citizen Field

The Red Sox will be looking for a repeat when the Prince George Senior Men's Baseball League playoffs get underway today.

In the best-of-five 2010 final the Red Sox outlasted the Gladiators three games to one. The Red Sox picked up where they left off during the 2011 regular season, finishing atop the league with a 16-5 record, earning a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Today's games involve the sixth-place Tigers versus the third-place Knights at 6:15 p.m. and the fifth-place Titans against the fourth-place Gladiators at 9 p.m. Both games are at Citizen Field. Wednesday the seventh-place Predators take on the second-place Jacks at 7:30 p.m.

The best-of-three first round is scheduled until Aug. 13.

The Red Sox will host the lowest remaining seed in the best-of-three second round, starting Aug. 15, while the second and third seeded teams will playoff against each other.

The best-of-five final is slated to begin Aug. 22.
