P.G. product Cousins joins Spruce Kings

Former Kelowna Rocket winger started his junior hockey career in WHL

Scott Cousins has joined the Prince George Spruce Kings family.

The Kings announced this week they’ve added the 18-year-old Prince George minor hockey product to their B.C. Hockey League roster following reassignment from the Kelowna Rockets.

The son of Cheryl and Bill Cousins collected four goals and eight assists in 52 games over three WHL seasons with the Rockets, who signed him in February 2021.

Cousins wore the ‘C’ for the Cariboo Cougars U-18 triple-A squad in 2019-20 and led the team in scoring with 28 goals and 57 points in 28 games. He was selected as BC Hockey’s U-16 player of the year in 2020

“We’re excited to add Scott to our group,” said Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes, in a team release. “Most importantly, he’s a great person from a great family. He’s also a skilled hard-working player that will fit in with our hard-working group of forwards.”

Cousins will join the Spruce Kings for practice next week before their next home games on Friday and Saturday against the Wenatchee Wild.
