Cody Bailey saved his best for last at the B.C. junior boys golf championship in Kamloops.
The 17-year-old Prince George Golf and Curling Club member set a blistering pace when he shot eagles in the first two holes of the fourth and final round Friday. He also birdied three holes and ended up with 2-under 70.
Bailey's four-round 10-over total of 78-75-75-70--298 left him in a five-way tie for 31st place.
He was among 76 players who made the cut after two rounds.
Ilirian Zalli of Richmond shot an 8-under 64 Sunday to end up at 16-under to win the tournament. Zalli totalled 68-69-71-64--272. He won by four strokes over Song Bai of Vancouver.
Meanwhile, at the B.C. junior women's championship in Kimberley, Natasha Kozlowski of Prince George also was at her best in Friday's final round, finishing with a 2-under 70 to end the four-round tournament at 30-over, finishing 24th overall out of 36 who made the 54-hole cut.
The 16-year-old PGGCC member totaled 83-78-77-70-318.
Phoebe Yue of West Vancouver, 18, was five strokes back of leader Leah John of Vancouver and came back to tie it in the final round. Yue defeated John in a playoff hole.
