Peewee Knights try to strike gold in Chilliwack

The schedule for the 2012 peewee double-A provincial tournament this weekend in Chilliwack has been determined with the Prince George Lomak Knights throwing out the first pitch on Thursday at 9 a.m. against the Rutland (Kelowna) Rockies.

The schedule for the 2012 peewee double-A provincial tournament this weekend in Chilliwack has been determined with the Prince George Lomak Knights throwing out the first pitch on Thursday at 9 a.m. against the Rutland (Kelowna) Rockies.

The Knights are seeded second in Pool B. Other teams in the round-robin group are: Burnaby Braves (1), Rockies (3), Ladner Red Sox (4) and Nanaimo Pirates (5).

Prince George will play two games Friday, starting at 9 a.m. against the Red Sox before hitting the diamond again at 3 p.m. versus the Pirates. On Saturday the Knights will wrap up pool play against the Braves at noon.

The five teams in Pool A include: Kelowna Cubs (1), Duncan Cardinals (2), Cloverdale Spurs (3), Abbotsford Angels (4) and Chilliwack Cougars (5).

The top two teams in each pool will advance to a crossover semifinal Sunday, 10 a.m., with the winners playing in the championship final at 2 p.m.
