PacificSport award nominees announced

The nominations are in. A total of 39 individuals have been selected for PacificSport Northern B.C.'s Fan the Flame awards.

A total of 39 individuals have been selected for PacificSport Northern B.C.'s Fan the Flame awards. That includes 22 nominees who are under consideration for four Rising Star awards based on their outstanding athletic achievements. Eighteen others are candidates for the four 2015 Canada Winter Games Legacy Sport Difference Maker awards for extraordinary contribution to sport in the North made by coaches, managers, officials, support staff or volunteers.

The award winners will be named at the Fan the Flame awards banquet and gala dinner sponsored by Canadian Tire on Thursday, Feb. 11 at the Prince George Civic Centre. Former world and Olympic champion long track speed skater Catriona Le May Doan will be the keynote speaker that night to address the crowd with her Power of Sport speech.
