Other 2012 inductees

BOXERS: Allan Bayne Retired in 1997 with a 3-0 professional boxing record and an amateur record of 144-24 including nine BC light middleweight championships.

Allan Bayne

Retired in 1997 with a 3-0 professional boxing record and an amateur record of 144-24 including nine BC light middleweight championships. He also won eight Silver Gloves, 11 Golden Gloves and was twice honoured as the BC Golden Boy. Other achievements include boxing in the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria and winning the 1993 Canadian Amateur championship after four second-place finishes. He also won at the Houston and Tacoma Golden Gloves tournaments. He was inducted into the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.

Laurie Mann

During a 26 year boxing career he had 150 fights and won six amateur Canadian titles, three times named best national boxer. He missed out on Olympic glory in 1980 when Canada and the United States boycotted the Moscow Games. When he turned professional Mann racked up a 31-4 record and retired in style, winning a 10-round unanimous decision over Vancouver's Al Harper in Prince George.

WOMEN:

Mandy Lapointe

The former Prince George boxer enters the hall of fame along with builder Margaret O'Reilly as the first two women inducted. After her amateur career Lapointe headed to Las Vegas were she stepped onto the professional boxing stage.

The Spruce Capital club was started by Irving Mann, grandfather of Laurie, in the 1960s and has produced many top boxers through the year.
