Meryeta O'Dine qualified 10th for Saturday's World Cup women's snowboard cross in Feldberg, Germany.
The 20-year-old from Prince George, who has been named to he Olympic team for Pyeongchang, was the second-highest finishing Canadian in the qualifying heats Friday.
Michela Moioli of Italy set the pace as the top qualifier, followed by Charlotte Bankes of France and Raffaella Brutto of Italy. Zoe Bergermann of Erin, Ont. was sixth. In other Canadian qualifying results, Carle Brenneman of Comox was 12th and Tess Critchlow of Kelowna was 15th. The event drew 30 entrants.
Last year in Feldberg, O'Dine won her first individual World Cup medal when she placed third. O'Dine, ranked seventh in the world standings, is coming off a 10th-place result last weekend in Bansko, Bulgaria.
In men's qualifying Friday, Christopher Robanske of Calgary was third-quickest down the course, finishing just behind Lorenzo Sommariva of Italy and Paul Berg of Germany.
Brochu Baptiste of Saguenay, Que.,was 20th, Kevin Hill of Vernon was 30th, Eliot Grondin of Ste-Marie, Que., was 35th and Liam Moffatt of Truro, N.S. placed 39th out of 50.
