Seventeen players from Prince George, Quesnel and Vanderhoof will represent the Northern High School Football League at the Senior Bowl in Surrey/Langley. That's unprecedented as long as Blokker has been around football.

"It comes down to the coaches and the amount of people putting in the effort to be out there with the kids," said Blokker, head coach of the two-time defending Canadian Bowl national junior-champion Vancouver Island Raiders.

"Where football has grown in Prince George is incredible. You've got university and junior coaches here at the (Northern Football Combine) camp scouting and recruiting, and it just comes down to the organization of the minor football program and the high school program. It just keeps growing."
