The North Central U18 Bobcats hockey team hit the ice in Prince George this past weekend playing three games in two days.
Saturday morning saw the Bobcats earn their first win of the season defeating the visiting Thompson Blazers by a score of 5-1 in Kin 1. Max Sanford picked up a pair for the Bobcats with James Kitney, Tristan Granter, and Keiran Planetta rounding out the scoring.
The Cats hit the ice Saturday afternoon to take on the North Zone Kings. It was a high-scoring affair with the Kings edging the Bobcats by a score of 8-6. Sanford potted two goals for the Bobcats with Jordan Harder, Kitney, Granter and Planetta each tallying a goal apiece.
The final game of the weekend for North Central took place Sunday morning at CN Centre where the Cats took on the NorthEast Trackers for Fort St. John. The Trackers were victorious defeating the Bobcats by a score of 5-1. Kitney scored the lone goal in the loss. Daniel Sturgeon was busy in net for North Central stopping 47 of the 52 shots on goal he faced.
