Bernie Nicholls scored 475 goals in an 18-year NHL career.

In one season alone, he collected 70 goals and 80 assists playing for the Los Angeles Kings on the same line with Wayne Gretzky.

Chances are, Nicholls will score a few tonight against the Emergency Services hockey team.

The 49-year-old Nicholls retired from the pro ranks 12 years ago but the skills that made him one of the most prolific scorers in hockey have not deserted him and he alone should be worth the price of admission in tonight's 22nd annual Oldtimers Hockey Challenge at the Coliseum.

Joining Nicholls on the Legendary Hockey Heroes team are the likes of retired NHL veterans Bryan Trottier, Gary Leeman, Cliff Ronning, Jimmy Mann, Dennis Polonich, Doug Bodger and goalie Warren Skorodenski.

Jack Valiquette, a former forward with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Colorado Rockies, will be the referee.

The Emergency Services team is made up of peace officers, corrections officers, sheriffs, firefighters, paramedics, and doctors. The home team will also have the talents of guest players selected from game sponsors, including Marco Myatovic (Canaccord Capital), Brian Marsh (Mainline Plumbing & Heating), Ted Brown (Chadwick & Brown Financial Ltd.), and Ken Turner (Bandstra Transportation).

Tickets are $20, available at the door. All proceeds from the game and the auction of NHL memorabilia will be donated to the Prince George and area Child Development Centres.
