The Cougars (6-2) dropped their second game of the season Sunday, a 6-5 defeat to the Vancouver NW Giants (6-0) when the three-time defending BCMML champions scored a power-play goal in the final minute of regulation time to sweep the weekend series. Saturday the Cats fell 4-3.

Liam Blackburn and Eli Jarvis had the other goals in the 4-3 loss. It was Jarvis' first game of the season since returning to the Cougars after beginning the year in the BCHL with the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

The Cougars host the Kootenay Ice this weekend for a pair of games at CN Centre.
