The College Heights Pub Assault were led by their goaltender Russel Mills who was stellar in net while taking a page out New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur's playbook to guide his team to victory.
The Assault goalie found the empty net Saturday at the Vanderhoof Arena adding some offensive flare to his 52 saves as College Heights rolled to a 13-8 win over the Shooters Pub Devils in Prince George Senior Lacrosse League action. Mills also had an assist.
With the two points the Assault are in second place in the league standings with a 5-3 record, while the Devils (3-7) are tied in points with the Twisted Cork/Regional Security Stylers (3-4) and two points ahead of the Quesnel Crossfire (2-6).
John Makowsky led the Assault with seven goals, three assists while Sean Ingham had three goals. The Devils were led by Jordan Zakarak with four goals, one assist and Scott Anderson with two goals and a helper.
The Devils return to the floor tonight, 8 p.m. at the Prince George Coliseum against the league-leading BX Pub Bandits (8-1). Other lacrosse games this week have the Stylers trying to rebound from two consecutive losses against the Assault on Wednesday and the Crossfire in Prince George to face off Thursday with the Bandits.
