Tied 2-2 in the second period with the visitors from Kitimat, the Prince George LJ Contracting Cougars flexed their muscles and lit up the rink at Kin 1.
A four-goal outburst in a four-minute span made all the difference for the Cougars and they went on to an 8-2 victory to stretch their record to 2-0 at the eight-team midget Tier 2 hockey tournament.
Garrett Hilton scored twice, and the Cougars got singles from Bon Legare, Matthias Urbanski, Mathew MacSemniuk, Landon Kitchen, Garet Anderson and Tyler Marsh. The Kitimat goalscorers were not available at press time. Seth Lapre notched the victory in the Prince George nets.
