The Prince George Deloitte Posse took silver at the midget B provincial lacross championship after a 10-7 loss in the championship game to Langley

Despite running into a hot goalie and trailing 5-0 after one period and 9-3 after two, the Posse finished with an impressive comeback in the third with four unanswered goals from Jared Stevens, but ran out of time.

"The kids came out a little flat, but they almost found a way to win it," said Posse co-coach Steve Etter. ""Essentially, we took a house league team down and came second in the province. When you put it in perspective that way, it's quite an accomplishment."

The Posse opened with a 9-3 win over Coquitlam, then defeated Campbell River 11-10, Langley 7-4 and then got by Shuswap 8-6 to advance to the championship game.

Goalie Liam Miller came into the game with about eight minutes left to replace Keith Bizicki, who had played extremely well the entire tournament in the Posse nets leading up to that. But the coaches wanted to give Miller some playing time and he was virtually unbeatable, allowing just one goal.

The Posse roster also includes Wyatt Turcotte, Steven Kidwell, Andrew Sivell, Brogan O'Brien,Todd Bredo, Serefina Sia, Shelby Watson, Braedon Lalonde, Parker Kerkhof, Chance Harper, Maxim Basi and Brandin Daychief. Scott Anderson and Dave Davidson also served as coaches.

n The Quesnel Crossfire captured the midget C provincial championship Sunday with an 8-4 win over Nanaimo. After losing the first game 6-4 to North Shore, the Crossfire went on a roll, beating Port Coquitlam 18-1, Nanaimo 5-1, and Mission 5-3 to advance to the gold-medal round.

In June, the Crossfire gave the Posse a scare, losing to Prince George by a one-goal margin in the Great White North League championship game.

Vanderhoof went 0-3 in the midget C tournament.
