The LJ Contracting Cougars pushed an undefeated streak to 10 games after a pair of ties against the Williams Lake Timberwolves last weekend.

Playing Cariboo Amateur Hockey Association games at the Kin Centre, the midget Tier 2 rep teams battled to a 4-4 draw on Saturday and a 2-2 deadlock on Sunday.

In the first game, Mason Roche, Ryan Whitehead, Bailey Mcfaul and Tanner Riplinger scored for the Cougars. The Timberwolves replied with goals by Corey Loring (2), Owen Power and Brett Hare. Seth Lapre (Prince George) and Hayden Lyons (Williams Lake) were the goaltenders.

In Sunday's tie - which stood as the fourth-consecutive regulation-time result between the clubs - Corbin Normand connected for both Cougar goals. Dayton Long and Cody Swan were the marksmen for the Timberwolves. In the nets, Mathew Ens of the Cats and Lyons of the T-wolves both gave solid performances.

The Cougars were fresh off a championship in their home tournament two weekends ago and also won an event in Quesnel earlier this season. Overall, the club has lost only two of its past 19 games.

This weekend, the Cats will skate at a tournament in Williams Lake. Their first game is against Salmon Arm on Friday and they'll face Smithers and Terrace on Saturday. Semifinal playoff games will be held on Sunday morning, leading up to the final.

The Cougars will host the midget Tier 2 provincials in March.
