Have you ever wondered what it would be like to play ball hockey with the Prince George Cougars?
This Sunday, from 1-2 p.m. at the Pine Centre Mall parking lot behind Sears, kids aged 12-and-under can find out for themselves when the Cougars host their Meet the Pack event. The Cougars will take on the kids in a fun game, then be available to sign autographs.
"This is the perfect time of year for our fans to meet the team, and get to know them on a one-to-one basis," said Prince George Cougars vice-president Brandi Brodsky. "We have an exciting season ahead of us, and we want our fans to have the opportunity to really be involved with their hometown team."
The Cougars open their season Saturday in Kamloops against the Blazers. The home opener at CN Centre is set for Sept. 30 when the Victoria Royals come to town for a two-game set.
Cougar players will participate in The Citizen's Raise-A-Reader event to promote literacy, Wednesday, Sept. 28. From 7 to 9 a.m. that day, 13 Cougar players will be handing out copies of The Citizen to customers at various Tim Hortons restaurants around the city in exchange for donations to be used for a literacy grant in the community.
