For 10 years, he administered pain and absorbed it. On Saturday night, Bill Mahood dished out more than he took and went out a winner.
Mahood, a 43-year-old mixed martial arts fighter, had the final bout of his career during the Extreme Fighting Challenge 10 card at CN Centre. In the main event, he took on Chester Post of Toronto and won by technical knockout in the second round.
Mahood, a former Prince George resident who now lives in Langley, put Post onto the canvas, mounted him, and pounded his way to the victory.
After the fight, Mahood had mixed emotions about what had transpired in the ring.
"It feels good to go out on top, for sure, but the whole going out part, I'm still kind of getting used to the idea that I'm not going to be training for my next fight," he said. "We'll see how that goes.
"I'm done, absolutely. I just don't like how it feels."
