The Prince George Spruce Kings on Monday announced they’ve acquired 19-year-old forward Logan Lorenz in a one-for-one trade from the Vernon Vipers.

Going to Vernon is 17-year-old centre Max Borovinskiy.

Lorenz played 18 games for the Vipers this season and picked up three goals and an assist. The five-foot-10, 165-pound native of Consort, Alta., played 20 games in the Vernon hub for the Vipers in the spring season and collected five goals and five assists.

"We're thrilled to add a player like Logan to our lineup,” said Kings general manager Mike Hawes. “Our coaches and I have watched Logan play several times over the past few seasons going back to his midget days and have always liked the way he plays. He's a hard-working player with a lot of skill. He will fit in well with our group."

Borovinskiy had three assists in 12 games with the Spruce Kings this season. The native of West Vancouver joined the Kings as a rookie in the Chilliwack hub last spring and collected four assists in 11 games.

In a separate deal, the Kings acquired 19-year-old defenceman James Bohn and future considerations from the Surrey Eagles as part of a three-team trade that included the Coquitlam Express. As part of their end of the bargain the Kings sent 19-year-old defenceman Brody Gagno to the Eagles.

Bohn is a left-shooting d-man who had two goals and five assists in 17 games this season with the Express. He played 20 games for Coquitlam in the BCHL’s Burnaby pod last spring and collected 10 assists. In his 87-game BCHL career over three seasons he’s scored three goals and 19 assists.

"James is a great character kid who plays the game hard and the right way,” said Hawes. “He will be a good defender for us while also being able to contribute offensively. We're excited to add him to our back end."

The Spruce Kings (10-6-0-0-0) are coming off a 3-1 win Friday in Vernon. They hope to have Lorenz in the lineup Wednesday when they host the Interior Conference-leading Penticton Vees (14-2-0-0-0) at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena (7 p.m. start).

Kings forward Austin Fraser will miss Wednesday’s game, the second of a three-game suspension for his illegal hit during a game Nov. 13 at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena. Fraser checked Coquitlam Express centre Austin Montgomery-Parsons into the side boards at centre ice and the league ruled he made contact with his elbow and forearm with Montgomery-Parsons’ head. Fraser was handed a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct, while Montgomery-Parsons was injured on the play and remains sidelined.
