Before he was named this week as head coach of the men's track and field/cross-country teams at the University of Washington, Prince George native Wayne Phipps complied a stellar resume as coach of the track and field/cross-country teams at the University of Idaho. His Vandals teams brought home 14 conference coach-of-the-year awards and 16 NCAA Division 1 Big West/Western Athletic Conference championships.
