The Canucks, led by a Prince George staff and featuring two P.G. players, won B.C. Hockey's Under-17 B.C. Cup Sunday in 100 Mile House.
In the championship game of the six-team showcase tournament, the Canucks built a 5-2 lead against the Maple Leafs and held on for a 5-4 victory.
The staff of the Canucks included head coach Brad Crossan, assistant coach Trevor Sprague and manager Andy Beesley. Curtis Bellamy filled a spot on the blueline for the Canucks and Chase Astorino skated as a forward.
"(The Leafs) ended up battling back with a couple quick ones on us but our guys stayed the course and it was great," Crossan said. "It was a good team effort."
