Team B.C. hopes to roll into the playoffs at the Canadian Wheelchair Curling championships in Boucherville, Que.
The B.C. rink, comprised of third Frank LaBounty of Prince George, lead Alison Duddy of Quesnel, is skipped by Darryl Neighbour and includes second Vince Miele, both from Richmond.
B.C. finished the round-robin on Friday in the four-way tie for third place with a 5-4 record, along with Manitoba, Alberta, and Saskatchewan.
Friday night, they were on the ice against Manitoba in one tiebreaker, while Alberta and Saskatchewan battled each other on another tiebreaker. Results weren't available at the Citizen's deadline.
Host Quebec finished atop the standings with an 8-1 record, while Ontario followed in second place with a 7-2 record.
Those two rinks will meet in the 1 vs 2 page playoff game on Saturday, while results from the two tiebreakers will determine the final third and fourth-place teams.
Earlier in the week, B.C. slid out to an early 3-0 record, but the rink suffered round-robin losses to Alberta (10-6); Newfoundland (8-4); Quebec (11-3); and Ontario (9-7). They beat Nova Scotia 11-6 and wrapped up the week with a 10-5 victory over Northern Ontario on Friday.
Quebec is the defending champion, while B.C. won silver at the 2013 championship.
