Judokas in Prince George have set a new record. The three judo clubs in town have combined to send 28 competitors to the 2013 Canadian Judo Championship at the Richmond Oval, July 4-7.

The three judo clubs in town have combined to send 28 competitors to the 2013 Canadian Judo Championship at the Richmond Oval, July 4-7. The 28 athletes, ranging from under-15 to masters categories, sets a new mark for the number of competitors that will represent the north at the championship.

Both North Capital and the Hart Academy Judo Clubs will send 10 competitors each to Richmond, while Prince George Judo Club will send eight.

Athletes from the Prince George clubs that will head to Richmond are as follows:

North Capital - Sylvia Hausot (female masters), Ivan Pilcik (male masters), Ronal Beauchesne (male masters), Stephen Plain (male masters), Paul Zorzi (male masters), Tim Dunphy (male masters), Shawn Young (male masters), Jon Cruz (male masters), Stefan Zwiers (male seniors) and Elijah Zwiers (male under 21).

Hart Academy - Christian Schenk (male masters), Jonathan Bergstrom (male under 21), Nathanial Hirvi (male under 18), Chris Grilz (male under 18), Brendan Bellavance (male under 18), Grace Northrop (female under 18), Lavanna Laass (female under 18), Melissa Nelson (female under 18), Lorna-Jane Simmons (female under 15) and Taylor Rowland (female under 15).

Prince George - Quinn Clemas (male under 21), Lisa Russell (female under 18), Kyle Wilkinson (male under 15), Taylor Schaus (male under 15), Gabe Edwards (male under 15), Branden Edwards (male under 15), Levi Price (male under 15) and Ryan Russell (male under 15).
