Local girls golden in Coquitlam

Two athletes from Prince George Gymnastics won their age categories last weekend at the Omega Invitational in Coquitlam.

Two athletes from Prince George Gymnastics won their age categories last weekend at the Omega Invitational in Coquitlam.

Anna MacDonald was first on the vault, finished second on beam and floor and third on bars, which meant she was first overall for provincial level four in the open age group.

Alia Wilson was first on the beam, and had second-place finishes on the bars, vault and floor. Her results put her atop provincial level four in the tyro age group (age 10-11).

MacDonald and Wilson were part of a contingent of five Prince George athletes who competed at the Omega meet.

Bronwyn Ellington was fourth on the bars and floor, sixth on the vault and eighth on the beam to finish sixth overall in provincial level three tyro (age 10-11).

Naara Little was second on the bars, fourth on the vault, seventh on the floor and eighth on the beam to finish fifth overall in provincial level three novice (age 12-13).

Lino Goto was eighth on the beam and floor, ninth on vault and 10th on the bars to finish 10th overall in the national open category (age 14 and over).
