Prince George Spruce Kings forward Chong Hyun Lee has been invited to play for the host team at the Euro Ice Hockey Challenge, Thursday through Saturday in Korea. Other teams participating in the tournament are Denmark, Hungary and Japan.
Korea will face Denmark in its Thursday opener and will take on Hungary and Japan on Friday and Saturday respectively.
In December, Lee skated for Korea at an EIHC event in Poland. There, he had a goal and two assists in three games. As a team, Korea went 0-1-2.
This B.C. Hockey League season, Lee leads the Kings in rookie scoring with 15 goals and 36 points in 45 games. In his past 15 contests, he has put up 13 points.
Lee will miss Thursday's game against the West Kelowna Warriors. The game, the last regular-season home date for the Kings, starts at 7 p.m. at Rolling Mix Concrete Arena.
As a special thank you to volunteers in Prince George, the Spruce Kings are offering free admission for anyone who is wearing a green 2015 Canada Winter Games jacket.
