The letter on Jake LeBrun's Prince George Spruce Kings sweater have a C added to it this week.
The 20-year-old forward from Prince George, who's entering his fourth season with the Kings, was named captain of the B.C. Hockey League team Sunday.
Last year, LeBrun collected 17 goals and 20 assists for 37 points in 42 regular season games.
"It's an honour and a dream come true to be named captain of my home town team," said LeBrun in a media release. "(It's) something I've been working towards for the last few years. To be rewarded for all my hard work is really satisfying."
"Jake has all the leadership qualities that you look for in a Captain," added Spruce Kings general manager Mike Hawes. "He also knows what the expectations of the team are and understands what it takes for the team to be successful.
LeBrun and the Spruce Kings will be on the ice at the Coliseum when training camp officially opens on Monday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. Intrasquad games (7 p.m.) continue on Aug. 25 to 27. They are open to the public and are free to attend.
The first exhibition game is slated for Friday, Aug. 28 when the team hosts the Merritt Centennials.
