The Prince George Capabilities Knights got into the swing of baseball season by posting a 1-3 record in weekend exhibition games in Chilliwack.
The peewee Knights (11- and 12-year-olds) started with a 15-3 Saturday loss to the Cloverdale Colts, the top-seeded club in the Fraser Valley. Later Saturday, the P.G. boys fell 8-4 to the Chilliwack Cougars.
On Sunday morning, the Knights hammered out a 17-5 win against Chilliwack and then fell 10-8 to that same club Sunday afternoon.
The Knights are in their tryout stage as they prepare for tournament and provincial play this summer. Players on the trip were Mike Schwab, Michael Taylor, Joseph Jen Venne, Zach Swanson, Cole Schwing, Cole Beacom, Seth Lapre, Ryan Bachand, Ryan Hampe, Quinten Astorino, Scott Walters, Dustin Aldana, Dawson McKinnon and Jeremy Gervais.
