The Inner City Boxing Club fighter was among the five Canadian boxers chosen to represent Canada at the 2013 World Boxing Championship in Almaty, Kazakhstan from Oct. 11-27. Lally earned the selection despite dropping his first bout at the Elite Continental Championship in Santiago, Chile last month.

Team Canada coaches were impressed with the skill Lally showed in his match against Cuba's Robeisy Ramirez, the Olympic gold medalist from London, according to Inner City coach Bob Pegues.

Next week, Lally and his Inner City teammate Jag Seehra will attend a British Columbia elite team training camp in Vernon. On Sept. 29, Lally will head to the national team training camp in Germany before moving on to Almaty.
