For Kenny Lally the pros will have to wait as the Prince George boxer has his sights set on the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Lally was one of three boxers from Canada's national team offered a spot in the annual World Series of Boxing draft, a semipro league, held last week, but he turned down the offer.
"We are starting the next four-year training cycle for the 2016 Olympics," said Lally. "My family is here and they are very supportive, my coach is a national team coach and my training partner Jag [Seehra] is here. I can't think of a reason to leave Prince George."
The pugilist will leave his hometown for a bout Oct. 13 in Cranbrook where he'll face American Ken Guzmann. Seehra is slated to face an Alberta opponent.
