Frank Labounty can now call himself a nine-time provincial champion.
The Prince George curler was part of the gold-medal winning rink that won the B.C. Wheelchair Curling Championship Sunday in Coquitlam.
Labounty played third on a team that included skip Darryl Neighbour of Richmond, second Vince Miele of Richmond, and lead Alison Duddy of Quesnel.
The team beat Bob MacDonald's Vancouver team 7-2 in Sunday's final.
Holding onto a 3-2 lead after four ends, the Neighbour rink scored singles in the fifth and sixth ends and a deuce in the seventh end to take control of the game and earn the win.
The championship featured three teams with curlers from across the province and staged with a round-robin format that began Friday. The top-two teams advanced to the final.
In round-robin play, Labounty and his team beat MacDonald 6-2 and West Kelowna's Gerry Austgarden team 10-4.
The Neighbour rink now advances to the Canadian Wheelchair Curling Championship in Montreal, April 28 - May 4.
