The rink, skipped by Gerry Austgarden of Kelowna and including third Darryl Neighbour of Richmond, second Frank LaBounty of Prince George and lead Allison Duddy of Quesnel, thumped Nova Scotia's Trent Hubley-Bolivar 13-3 in Draw 3 Tuesday afternoon.

B.C. stole a deuce in the first end and four more in the second end to take control of the game. Nova Scotia scored a deuce with the hammer in the third end but B.C. scored another four points in the fourth end.

After Nova Scotia scored a single in the fifth end, B.C. earned a deuce in the sixth end and stole one more in the seventh before running Nova Scotia out of rocks in the eighth end.

In Draw 2 Tuesday morning, Manitoba defeated B.C. 7-3 to hand Austgarden and his team their first loss of the bonspiel.

Manitoba, skipped by Dennis Thiessen of Winnipeg, scored singles in the first and third ends, and stole one in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. B.C. earned a single in the fifth end but Thiessen came back with a dagger in the sixth, scoring three points. The teams traded singles in the seventh and eighth ends.

In Monday's opening draw, B.C. stole seven points in four ends en route to a 10-4 victory against Darwin Bender's Saskatchewan rink.

Austgarden scored three in the second end with hammer, stole a single in the third end, four more in the fourth and singles in the fifth and sixth ends.

Saskatchewan put three on the board in the seventh before handshakes ensued in the eighth end.

Ontario sits atop the round-robin standings with a 3-0 record, followed by Manitoba, B.C., Saskatchewan, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador, who are all deadlocked with 2-1 records.

B.C. takes on Alberta and Northern Ontario today and Newfoundland and Labrador and Ontario on Thursday.

B.C. wraps up the round-robin on Friday with two draws against host Quebec and New Brunswick.
