It was a fourth-place finish for three of the other four PGYSA Kodiaks' teams at provincial tournaments on the weekend.
The under-18 and under-17 boys fell in the bronze-medal game of the Provincial B Cup tournament in Aldergrove, while the under-16 girls also returned home with fourth place from the Provincial A Cup in Kamloops. The under-14 boys had a difficult time at the July 5-8 event in Aldergrove finishing with an 0-4 record.
U18 Kodiaks
After opening the tournament with a 5-0 win over the Saanich Fusion and tying the Nelson Selects at 1-1, the boys under-18 team fell 4-1 to North Delta United on Saturday, placing them in the bronze-medal game Sunday against Kelowna United FC.
In the medal round, the Kodiaks were unable to produce the offence needed to win falling 1-0.
U17 Kodiaks
The under-17 boys wrapped up the tournament with a 1-2 record. After earning a 3-2 win over the CCB Tigers on Saturday to earn a berth in the bronze-medal game, the Kodiaks lost 2-0 on Sunday to the Penticton Pinnacles.
U16 Kodiaks
The tournament ended the way it started for the Kodiaks' girls but with a different result.
In their opening game Thursday the Kodiaks knocked off the West Vancouver Rangers 2-1. The rematch came in the bronze-medal game Sunday with the Rangers earning the win with an identical 2-1 score.
On Saturday, the Kodiaks lost 2-1 to the eventual gold medalists, the CMFSC Threat, and finished the tournament with a 1-2-1 record.
U14 Kodiaks
The under-14 boys were outscored 10-2 in their three round-robin games placing them in the seventh-place game Sunday against the Terrace Kermodes. It was a tight game as both teams battled hard to stay out of last place, with the Kermodes coming out on top with a 3-2 win.
