Semifinals are set for the 2012 B.C. Minor Midget double-A baseball tournament.
The Prince George IDL Midget Knights (3-1) will battle the Kelowna Cubs (2-2) in one semifinal while the Tsawwassen A's (4-0) square off with the Ridge Meadows Royals (3-1). Both games are Sunday, 10 a.m. with the Knights and Cubs at Citizen Field and the A's and Royals at Rotary Field.
The Knights lost their final game of the tournament Saturday morning, 9-5 to the Victoria Wolves (2-2) after the Islanders erased a 5-3 deficit in the bottom of the sixth inning with six runs. Jesse Knoop took the loss for the Knights while the Wolves' Ben Hickman earned the win.
Prince George scored 39 runs and allowed 14 runs in four round-robin games.
Other game scores from Saturday were: A's 15 Duncan Nationals 5, Kelowna 10 Tri City Cubs 4, Royals 10 Cloverdale Spurs 1, Nationals 10 Ladner 8 and Wolves 5 Vancouver Community Mounties 3.
In the two rain-delayed games Friday the Tri City Cubs edged Ladner 8-7 while the Spurs slipped past the Mounties 4-3.
The Knights earned first place in Pool B due to their 12-1 win over the Royals.
The semifinal winners will play again at 2 p.m. for the right to advance to the Western Canadian Midget Championship in Morden, Man., in August.
