Knights go winless in Saskatchewan

The Prince George IDL Midget Knights played their closest game of the weekend Sunday, but were unable to come up with a victory at the 2013 Western Canadian AA Midget Baseball Championship in Swift Current, Sask.

The Prince George IDL Midget Knights played their closest game of the weekend Sunday, but were unable to come up with a victory at the 2013 Western Canadian AA Midget Baseball Championship in Swift Current, Sask.

The Knights were edged by the Bonnyville Braves of Alberta 8-7 in a battle of winless squads at the tournament. Prince George finished with an 0-4 record while the Braves were 1-3.

In the final the host Swift Current Indians faced the Brandon Knights of Manitoba. The game was ongoing at press time.

After starting the tournament with a 14-5 loss to the Lloydminster Twins (Saskatchewan reps) on Friday, the Knights dropped both their Saturday games, falling 14-2 to the host Swift Current Indians before losing to the Brandon Knights 14-4.

In 2012, the Knights finished with a 1-3 record at the Western Canadians in Morden, Manitoba.
