David Stephens has seen a good chunk of Canada in his hockey career.
Born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon, the 20-year-old's talents as a centre have taken him to Prince George, Edmonton, Moncton, N.B., and now Nova Scotia.
The Prince George Spruce Kings made that official this week when they traded Stephens to the Pictou County Weeks Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League for future considerations.
Stephens first arrived on the Prince George scene in 2008 with the major midget Cariboo Cougars. After two seasons he joined the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL but was limited to 30 games in 2010-11 due to concussion injuries.
Two games into the 2011-12 season, Stephens was sent to the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He played 12 games last season with the Wildcats and returned to B.C., where he signed on with the Spruce Kings in January. In 17 BCHL games, he collected three goals and eight assists.
