The team may be low in the standings in the B.C. Hockey League but when it comes to tapping into the heart of the community for its biggest annual fundraiser, the Prince George Spruce Kings hockey club is on top of the chart.
The 28th annual Spruce Kings Show Home Lottery sold out Friday afternoon and all 7,500 tickets are now in the hands of people who hope their phone will ring at 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14. On that Valentine's Day night, the grand prize draw will be made and the Spruce Kings will hand over the keys to unlock a $376,000 house at 2638 Links Dr. in the Aberdeen subdivision.
-- The Kings, fighting for a playoff spot, hosted the Nanaimo Clippers Friday night and skated to a 5-2 win.
