Justin Rai's offensive outburst against the Surrey Eagles last weekend earned him B.C. Hockey League Player of the Week honours ending Jan. 12.
Rai, a five-foot-ten forward with the Prince George Spruce Kings, netted four goals, including a hat trick, and an assist in a double-header sweep at home last weekend against the Eagles.
The 19-year-old native of Surrey opened with a goal and an assist in a third-star showing Jan. 10. He followed that up with a hat trick, including the overtime winner in a 4-3 win Jan. 11.
After 37 games, Rai has established new highs in all offensive categories with 31 points - 13 goals and 18 assists.
Spruce Kings, who sit second in the Mainland Division with a 24-13-2-2 record and 52 points, take a three-game road swing through the Island Division this weekend.
They face-off Friday in Victoria against the Grizzlies, Saturday in Cowichan Valley against the Capitals and wrap it up Sunday in Nanaimo against the Clippers.
