Jeremiah Luedtke scored the winner in double overtime to help the Prince George Spruce Kings edge the visiting West Kelowna Warriors 3-2 Saturday night.

It was the Kings 29th victory of the season in the B.C. Hockey League, as they remain in second place in the Mainland Division 29-16-3-2 and 63 points. West Kelowna remains in second place in the Interior Division at 30-13-3-4 and 67 points.

Prince George scored a pair of goals in the opening period at the Coliseum, thanks to goals from Christian Weidauer and Jake LeBrun (power play).

Warriors replied in the second period on a power play goal from Adam Plant. They scored the equalizer at the 14:46 mark in the third frame on a goal from Jason Cotton.

Five minutes of four-on-four in the first overtime period solved nothing and sent the game into the second overtime with three-on-three play. Luedtke notched his 14th goal of the season on an assist from LeBrun at the 1:55 mark.

Karan Toor, Chad Staley, and Justin Rai all tallied single assists.

The Warriors fired 35 shots at Kings netminder Alex Murray, who was back in the net after being given a night off Friday night against Alberni Valley. West Kelowna goalie Cody Murray stopped 26 of 29 shots.

Murray was named the first star of the game, while Weidauer picked up second-star honours. Ryan Fraser-Lee of West Kelowna was named third star.

Prince George kept pace with the Mainland Division-leading Langley Rivermen (32-12-2-5) and 73 points. The Rivermen beat the Vernon Vipers twice in a home-and-home two-game series Friday and Saturday night.

The two teams face off this week as Langley visits the Kings Thursday and Friday night (7 p.m., Coliseum)

The Spruce Kings have eight games remaining in the regular season and five of those are against the Rivermen.
